There are many places that are worth visiting just outside New York City. In just as little as three hours or less, you will be able to find different areas that will complement your family’s vacation beautifully. Here, we will go over some of the places that are great to visit on any family vacation. These popular areas will have everything you could want in a vacation, such as exquisite restaurants, landmarks, entertainment venues and other great activities for everyone.
Boston – Boston is great place to visit, which is just outside of NYC. You can take advantage of the free visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, which is only free on Wednesday nights. Another great place to visit for all of those sports enthusiasts is Boston’s Sports Trail. You will be able to visit and enjoy a collection of great sports venues, even on off-days. Some of the sports venues you can tour are Fenway Park, Boston Garden, The Sports Museum, Matthews Arena and many more. Aside from these excellent sport activities you can do with the family, enjoy the fine restaurants, shopping malls and other entertainment venues that the great city of Boston has to offer.
Long Island – Long Island offers so many places that you can visit with family and friends. You can start by visiting the stunning and beautiful beaches. There, you can enjoy a whole day out in the sun while you are taking a dip in the water. Take in the gorgeous sites of the bluffs, white sand and alluring water of the beaches. Take a trip to the local shopping malls and outlet centers, where you will find bargain prices on high quality products. At the end of the day, you can also go to the elegant restaurants that are in town. You will find all sorts of different restaurants that will offer exquisite cuisines and great tasting wine.
Connecticut – You can take your family or go with friends to the excellent state of Connecticut. Start by visiting the Rocky Neck State Park, which provides wide collections of hiking trails, picnic areas, fishing spots and many other great activities. Visit the city of Mystic, while you are in Connecticut, and visit the many different shops and restaurants. You will be able to try out the one and only, original Mystic Pizza restaurant, which was made famous because of the movie.
